The Headquarters of the International Union of Railways (UIC) located in Paris, France has a vacancy for an English mother tongue interpreter/translator for its language subsidiary, Technical Language Services.

In addition to relevant degree-level qualifications, applicants should have the following language combination:

  • French (A)
  • English (B)
  • German (B or C)

The post will include:

  • consecutive and simultaneous interpreting (involving frequent travel)
  • translation work (approx. 50 % of time).

Applicants should have a two years’ interpreting and translating experience, preferably in an in-house environment, good technical knowledge with knowledge of the railway field an advantage, and be familiar with IT tools. Experience of CAT tools (Star Transit) welcomed.

Salary commensurate with experience.
